‘Revelation’ was inspired by the arrival of Spring after a long Winter living in Germany. The sunshine and new plant life popping up after many months of snow and ice was so exciting. Another inspiration in this artwork was a fabulous peacock I spotted strutting around. I couldn’t forget his amazing feather display, and this worked its way into my artwork, along with the delicate dandelions that appear with the warmer weather. ‘Revelation’ is the result of over 200 hours of drawing.
A combination of simple drawing techniques were used to create shading, tone and depth. The artwork was drawn with a combination of pigment liner pens ranging in size from 0.05mm – 1.0mm. All shading was achieved using the stippling technique, the result of thousands of dots with a 0.05mm pen.
